The Lagos Startup Week 2017 was themed “Visionary”. An annual event organized for visionary entrepreneurs, local leaders & SMEs whose inquisitive minds and unconventional ideas are transforming Africa and tackling the world’s challenges. Following on from the success of 2015 and 2016 editions,  Lagos for the third consecutive year, played host to 50 sessions, 160 speakers, and 2000+ attendees. Five days to learn, build momentum and opportunity around our local market ran from the 25th – 30th of September 2017 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Lekki.

The Day 2 of the event was packed with a lot of interesting activities which included: RDM’s Digital marketing Masterclass; User experience and product development; The Future Innovation in Lagos; Art of Photography; And Fashion Innovation.

Present at the event was the Ringier Digital Marketing (RDM) African team which consisted of Zubby Emodi (Head of RDM African hub), Oluwaseye Dipo Adebule (RDM Online Marketing Manager), and Debo Ajayi (Head of RDM Academy) who Kicked started the event with “10 Things Every Business Should Do with Digital Marketing.”

Digital marketing is not complete without a specific goal. The key is to plan your marketing goals, objectives, strategies and tactics thoroughly before jumping into anything. How do you set marketing goals? Marketing goals are set by doing the following:

  • Creating Awareness
  • Engagements
  • Conversion
  • Loyalty
  • Advocacy
  1. Use Analytic to Make Business Decision

Remember, if you don’t quantify results, you will never run a positive social media campaign. Analytic tools tells you what is working and what is not. Analytic is all about measurements and what do you measure? The answer is “Data”, the data collected can be used to make changes to your campaign. It helps you track and measure how your customers are responding to your content. Analytics tools that can be used:
