Nokia C1 Coming In Android & Windows Variants

The so much speculated Nokia C1, which has been in leaks for some months now, has now surfaced in a new render image on the Web. While all the leaks and rumors until now pointed out the handset to run Android with the company’s Z Launcher, the new leak shows that the smartphone is to run Windows 10 OS. There is possibility of the smartphone coming in two variants for the two operating systems. Although this seems to be more logical, there are also speculations the device might be able to dual boot Android and Windows.

The tipster who leaked the image said (via Nokiapoweruser) that the handset will arrive in both OS versions. The latest render shows its camera placed on the top-left corner, unlike the leaked image from September which showed the smartphone’s rear camera at the centre.

While we can’t guarantee the authenticity of these Nokia C1 images, it is a known fact that there have been rumors of Nokia releasing a new device any time soon. Nokia hasn’t been able to make smartphones of its own for a while now but by the end of this year, the contractual agreement with Microsoft is expiring and the company may really get back into making new smartphones.

The last Android phones, Nokia X and Nokia XL, didn’t perform so well and this may be because they were just below par. There were so many devices in their price range offering better features and perform way better.

Going by past leaks and rumours, the Nokia C1 is expected  to include a 5-inch  FHD display, 2GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter  and  an 8-megapixel rear camera and run on Android OS 6.0 Marshmallow as well. Previous reports have suggested that the Nokia C1 will be powered by an Intel chipset.

If the news of the Nokia C1 is true, the company will definitely ensure it’s good enough to compete in the already saturated market. After all Nokia faithfuls have been  anticipating the company’s return and would like to see them back in business.
